Poverty is on the rise in America as the “jobless recovery” continues to fail ordinary people. Impoverished Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders aren’t in the spotlight, but with an over 45% increase in the number of AAPIs below the poverty line over the past five years, that might need to change.

What’s contributing to the invisibility of AAPI poverty? The demographic trends of impoverished AAPIs, and of course, the pernicious model minority myth.

Okay. Can I just say. Lorde needs to do some of her own work when it comes to interrogating racism in her music. But that doesn’t mean she (and her boyfriend, James Lowe) ought to be the brunt of this bullshit.

I will also point out, Lowe knows how to dress. I love this outfit.
